Alpine Series Pt 4 - Downhill - 2018

This is the fourth and last module in our Alpine Skiing series. Owners of all four modules will now be able to replay the 2017/8 World Cup season, plus the 2018 Olympics, either using the best skiers of that season or the ATG skiers provided.

Furthermore you can also D-I-Y rate skiers from any season where the World Cup standings are available (that's every past season I believe) or re-run individual events (World Championships,Olympic Games, etc.) and can connect the entire replay with 'The Sliders' if your interest extends to that particular winter sport.

With 'Downhill - 2018' we have once again used the familiar system but with modifications that hopefully reflect the differences of Super-G and Downhill. For the Men most downhill courses are nearly twice as long as the Super-G runs, for the Women they vary greatly, from about a 56-second run time to nearly twice as long. For these reasons we have now increased the Course Sections to four (Top, Middle, Lower and Bottom) with two Turns (multi-dice rolls) on each of the Sections, making a total of eight Turns per run. To better simulate the nature of downhill racing we have placed slightly more emphasis on the Tech. Rating, in that on Turns 3 and 4 (the Middle Section) there is now a 50% chance that the Tech Rating will be used rather than the 17% chance for the other Sections. The Middle Section, as before, comes in four varieties (A.B.C & D) to help produce realistic times for the various venues. And we now have different Section cards for the Men and the Ladies as the difference in run times (nearly 2 minutes in some cases) made it impossible to fit into the same set of Cards.

The solo rules and the ability to rate your own seasons are very similar to previous modules.
